Children department

The children and youth department of Petr Bezruc´s Library in which 3 librarians are working is visited by 2550 registered readers at the age below 15. There is about 23000 documents available for readers. The fond of youth department is offering fancy selection of fairy tales, leporels, adventurous and girlie romance, books about nature and science fiction. Literature is lined up by the alphabet and marked by colors on the backbone of the book for easier orientation of readers. We´ve also got a few books in English and German with a different degree of difficulty. Educational literature is divided by sections, visible marked on each rack. You can find here plenty of beatiful encycopedias about animals, technics and history. It´s just a matter of what are you interested in. The books are being bought regularly and newly books are exposed in special rack. There´s also a plenty brochures, CD´s and over 60 magazine titles to lend.

The youth and children department is set for primary and pre-school classes before the noon hours. We´re also offering midmorning briefings and librarian lessons on various themes for children and teachers. We also introduce the world of books and literature, we compete, solve crosswords, prepare programs for handicaped children and we want to show the beauty of of read word and make children want to read.

Youth and children department is fully automatized. Computers with on-line catalogues and free internet access is also available for children readers.

That time when the library is closed it is possible to make your loan longer from 7 till 15.

You can make your loan longer by calling 553 821 700 or through website (you need number of you library card and PIN code) or send an e-mail where you have to write your name, date of birth and readers card number to detske@okpb.cz .
