Adult department

The adult department is situated in the ground floor of Petr Bezruc´s city House of culture. A study room which is situated in the ground floor aswell is a part of adult department. There are 7 librarians women and 1 librarian man in these work places. Opening hours are from 8 - 18 except Wednesday.

The adult department is fully automatized since 1995 and readers can use 5 online catalogues.

There are 68418 book titles in adult department. There has been bought 2552 book titles last year from wich 1137 was an educational literature and 1415 fiction. The final ammount of registered readers in 2008 byl 5841. Everyone who is above 16 years old and has got an ID card can make a registration in our library. The biggest part of readers is aged between 20-29 years old (28,5%) which makes it exactly 1664 readers and the biggest part or readers of exact age are 16 years old peeople (309 readers).

The final ammout of visitors in 2008 was 58336. All those readers lend 211922 books and magazines. 56% of the whole ammount is fiction, 44% educational literature which also includes periodical lend (16%).

The average of how many books ang magazines a reader lends in our library is 36. The average of books lended per visit is 4 titles. We have made 3995 reservations in 2008.

We also arrange librarian lessons for student of primary schools, high schools and univesities where we inform them about how department works. We have arranged and showed how the department works in 42 librarian lessons which were attended by 494 students last year.
